Wisdom Toofers

Since my wisdom teeth were removed last Friday, I should be well over the pain by now. In fact, the doctor told me that the pain would reach its peak by the 3rd day. Yeah well, that's not so true. The first 3 days were a breeze in comparison to the pain I've had the last few days. Turns out I have dry sockets and I had to go back to the dentist yesterday to have them packed. In other words, they shoved medicine-filled gauze in the holes and oh.my.god, the pain.... it hurt so badly that I could barely walk. And to top it all off, while the doc was shoving the gauze in me, he sliced my lip with his scissors. Excuse me while I go shoot someone.

WOW!! That totally sucks! I had a molar pulled not long ago and the dentist put the fear of dry sockets in my head and I was so paranoid I would get one. Luckily I didn't but his description of them didn't sound appealing at all....you have my sympathy!

Oh....MAHgah... you are scaring the CRAP out of me.

(I still have all four wisdom teeth. My dentist says they can stay put as long as they continue to look healthy all nestled in there under gum and bone)

I had dry socket also when they pulled my four wisdom teeth simultanously at age 20. Hurt like a crazy mf-er. But my wise dentist gave me some oxycodone, and, in my lovely mother's care, I constantly drifted off to glorious, pain-free sleep until I healed. I highly recommend the industrial-strength pain killers, and if your dentist hasn't given them to you yet, he/she is a sadist.
