Table Foods
The transition to table food sucks considering the following factors:
A. I hate to cook
B. I hate to buy food at the grocery store that requires cooking
Jars of baby food were so easy. Where's formula when you need it? Maybe it wasn't so bad spending goo gobs of cash on that stuff!!

Word!!!!!! A constant source of headache and frustration at the O'Neal household: "What in the world will the baby eat for dinner tonight?" This is closely followed by: "What will mommy and daddy eat for dinner tonight?"
It's driving me to drinking. That's my excuse, anyway. But I do have a tip for you if you don't have it already -- go out and buy "Feed Me, I'm Yours" by Vicki Lansky. It has recipes and ideas that are usually pretty simple. For example -- she reminded me of the beauty of english muffin pizzas.

What Rbelle said!
I'm totally the same way...I don't cook all that regularly... what I DO cook is not usually suitable for Ben.
I'm ALL about the Lil Entrees for now!

I stocked up on the gerber entrees, but Mo doesn't seem to like them. She'll eat the fruit or veggie side, but not the meat! I keep trying though... She does like the packs of ravioli though. Talk about easy!

Monkeygirl, Isaac has also expressed his disapproval for the Lil Entrees in the past, so we haven't been back to try them. After hearing the raves from Rbelle and Erin, I'm thinking maybe they need a revisit...
But in the meantime, when I can't get Isaac to eat anything else, he will almost always eat big-people canned food. Talkin' Spaghetti-Os, chunky soups.

i just keep trying stuff. Some days he likes one thing and hates it the next. Some things we do:
1- veg all can of veggies, just warm the veggies.
2- grilled cheese sandwich
3- mac and cheese
4- grilled ham and cheese sandwich
5- strained chicken noodle soup
So, as you can see I am NO chef, but these things keep us sane. He also eats A LOT of instant grits. We can get them with bacon or cheese or just about anything.

For some reason, I never considered canned soups or grilled cheese or anything like that. I am so not imaginative when it comes to feeding the little one. Thanks everyone for the great suggestions!

Hi, thanks for the comment, I thought I'd pop on over and see the girl who shares Eli's birthday :) She's ADORABLE!! I can't believe she sat still fora haircut! Eli's been dubbed the little hippy thanks to his wild hair but I know there's no way he'll sit still for a haircut.
Also, I'm there with you on food, it's hard here because we have no idea what to feed him because we have no idea what will cause an eczema flare up. Ugh. Also, he's a picky little booger, he does not like the little entrées. So far the things he'll eat include-
chicken nuggets,
toast with light butter and cinnamon maple sprinkled on it,
tater tots,
hot dogs,
and I just tried canned peaches again and they were a hit, so I'm glad he has a fruit other than stage 3 baby food fruit he'll eat (still working on veggies)! I figure I'll just try a little of everything we eat (and some healthy stuff we don't but should, ya know?) and usually its far from homemade, I hate cooking! But I still stock up Baby food, if its what he'll eat for the most part than I 'm sticking with it, I figure no rush to get him to eat table food. Though it would be nice if he could spoon the food into his mouth himself and free up my hands! ;)

A new find tonight!! And last night!! Last night was one of those freezer kid cuisine meals with (eww) FISH STICKS! He ate every bite. Tonight we went to a pancake supper at the baptist church and he ate his pancake and mine as well! HA!
